Judy Chege-Ndungu is a committed Christian, wife, mother of three and a Counseling Psychologist by profession.
She is also a member of the Values and Life skills working group (VaLi); an initiative of Civil Society actors working to integrate core capabilities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Judy has undergone further training in Gender Integration, Diversity & Inclusion, Partnership Structuring, Leadership and Competency Based Education & Training.

Judy has 22 years’ experience as a Professional Counselor, Trainer, Speaker, Facilitator, Career Development Specialist and Workforce Development Expert. She established and was Head of a Counselling & Careers department in a tertiary institution for nine years. She also worked for the World Bank funded Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP) and for USAID-funded Kenya Youth Employment and Skills Project (K-YES).
She has facilitated Training of Trainers in Life Skills,
Basic Counseling Skills and Best Practices in Job Placement for over 200 TVET institutions across 9
counties in Kenya. Judy has built capacity of over 50 private sector companies and over 300 ‘jua kali’
businesses in Management of Successful Internship Programs. In addition, she has 14 years’ experience in linking youth to jobs and internships during which she successfully linked approximately
5000 youth to industry.
Organizations that Judy has worked for include Research Triangle Institute (RTI) International, the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Vision Institute of Professionals (VIP). Right from high school to university, Judy delivered numerous trainings, facilitated youth groups and spoke in diverse forums while serving in church groups.
After leaving formal employment, Judy established Light A Candle Counselling Services. Judy is also
a Partner at Ensighten Enterprises, an organization that offers soft-skills training to Corporates and
Institutions. Judy has authored a book ‘Lifted from the Pit of Brokenness and Despair’ and co-authored the book ‘Youth Unemployment in Kenya – a ticking Time Bomb.
